"Talent Zoo has seen an unprecedented amount of confusion over what to pay this skill set, as well as an extremely high demand for them. These two factors combined with the fact that the demand completely outweighs the supply, we are seeing salaries skyrocket," says Amy Hoover, Executive VP of Talent Zoo.
Talent Zoo also noted the amount of increase in traffic to their salary monitor, specifically with regards to the interactive segment of advertising and marketing jobs. All the signs pointed to the fact that the market is at a loss for what to pay these individuals, as well as the fact that geographic location is playing less and less of a role.
Talent Zoo surveyed approximately 4,000 hiring managers, CFO's and individuals to put together a composite of interactive salaries throughout the nation based on region.
Some highlights of the report are:

Creative salaries are 10-15% higher than those of traditional jobs.
•
Media and account service salaries are about 10% higher than traditional.
•
Interactive project manager salaries are about 15% higher than their traditional counterparts.
•
Geographic oddities are occurring. For example, Milwaukee salaries are higher than Atlanta for interactive positions.
Hoover says, "Talent Zoo hopes that these findings and the subsequent report will fill the need everyone has been clamoring for. We are continuing to research salaries, both old and new positions, in order to better serve the communications industry as we always have."
Research has also shown a large increase in "creative" titles and positions being created, such as Chief Knowledge Officer and VP of Search, which has proven to further increase the difficulty of pinpointing salary ranges.
